Tenders are invited for funding of up to  $30,000 to undertake specific technology  innovations research on behalf of the National Vocational Education and  Training (VET)
E-learning Strategy (the Strategy).

Four proposals are sought to address the  following applied research topics:

  1. Supporting  effective delivery of foundation skills to Indigenous, remote and disadvantaged  learners
  2. Verification  of e-assessment and authentication of user identity
  3. Bring  Your Own Device (BYOD) Guidelines for Registered Training Organisations
  4. Capturing  information to improve learner retention and completion of courses

Tenders must be submitted by 5:00 pm  AEDT, Friday 25 October 2013.

Applicants should be prepared to commence  the project by mid-November and complete no later than Monday 19 May 2014.

The projects will be managed through the  Strategy’s New Generation  Technologies business activity and overseen by the E-standards  Expert Group (EEG),  the VET sector’s national forum  for collaboratively reviewing and recommending technical standards to support  e-learning.

“The outcomes of these projects will support  effective teaching in the 21st century; improving assessment and  completion rates and lifting student employability”, says EEG Chair, Rodney  Spark.

The Strategy is funding five technology  innovations applied research projects in 2013-14. The first request for tender,  now closed, was for the “Making industry grade technologies available for training” project.
