New Indigenous Training Strategy projects announced

Opportunities for Indigenous people to gain new skills for local jobs have received a boost with the announcement of the first 11 projects to be funded under the Queensland Government’s Indigenous Training Strategy.

The Indigenous Training Strategy funds regional and community-based training projects to help achieve meaningful and long-term employment and training outcomes for Indigenous participants.

The selected projects have a combined value of almost $1.5 million and will assist 570 people.

They range in location from Lakeland and Mornington Island in the north to Ipswich and Brisbane in the south east, and will make nationally recognised training available through organisations with demonstrated experience in delivering training to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
